Chelsea have expressed interest in signing Bayern Munich’s young forward, Mathys Tel, during the ongoing transfer window.
The Premier League club has reportedly reached out to Bayern Munich to explore the possibility of signing the 19-year-old winger, with the Blues ready to submit a formal offer if Tel becomes available. This follows Chelsea’s initial interest in the player last summer.
While Bayern Munich are known to admire Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku, there has been no suggestion of a swap deal being proposed. Nkunku, a France international, joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £50m and remains a key part of the squad.

Tel, who is under contract with Bayern until 2029, has made limited appearances this season, starting just two Bundesliga games under manager Vincent Kompany.
Despite this, Bayern may be reluctant to part with a player of Tel’s potential, which could make Chelsea’s pursuit challenging.
In addition to Tel, Chelsea are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. However, they may wait until the summer to act, as Guehi’s contract situation could make a deal more viable then.
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is actively reshaping the squad, with possible exits for Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, and Cesare Casadei being considered to create room for new signings.
The outcome of Chelsea’s approach for Tel remains uncertain, but the club appears determined to continue their squad rebuild and add promising talent for the future.
