
Chelsea’s academy defender Olutayo Subuloye has marked a milestone in his career by signing his first professional contract, just days after turning 17.
Subuloye joined Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion at the Under-12 level and has consistently demonstrated his skill and determination, and became a scholar for the 24/25 season.
The versatile defender was instrumental in Chelsea’s successful 2023/24 campaign, lifting the Under-16 Premier League National Tournament trophy and playing a decisive role in the Under-17 Premier League Cup final, where the Blues secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Now in his debut full season with the Under-18s, Subuloye has continued to excel. He notched his first goal at this level in a dominant 6-2 victory over Aston Villa in September, further highlighting his attacking contributions from the back.
His performances also earned him a call-up to represent England’s Under-18 squad in October, solidifying his status as a rising star.
