Chelsea’s brief association with Nicolas Jackson appears to be nearing its end, with multiple reports indicating the Senegalese striker will leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
Jackson, 24, joined Chelsea from Villarreal in 2023 and, while not always prolific, made a steady contribution over two seasons, reaching double figures in goals and offering valuable link-up play. His tactical intelligence earned praise from manager Enzo Maresca on several occasions.
However, a barren run in front of goal towards the end of last season, coupled with two unnecessary red cards, severely dented his standing at the club.
The situation worsened with the arrivals of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town and João Pedro from Brighton, the latter playing a key role in Chelsea’s FIFA Club World Cup triumph. Once first choice, Jackson has now slipped to third in the pecking order.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, “Nicolas Jackson and Chelsea, it’s over,” with the striker, alongside Christopher Nkunku, not expected to be part of the squad moving forward.

Jackson was notably absent from Chelsea’s squad for their first pre-season match against Bayer Leverkusen at Stamford Bridge and is believed to have been training separately.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are actively reinforcing their attack, having reportedly agreed personal terms with Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho.
The Blues are also pursuing RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons, who remains a key target for the remainder of the transfer window.
