Nicolas Jackson to Join Bayern on €15m Loan Deal

Bayern Munich have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Nicolas Jackson on loan, ending weeks of speculation over the striker’s future.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal as “here we go,” with the Senegal international expected to fly to Bavaria alongside his agent Ali Barat of Epic Sports.

The agreement will see Bayern pay a €15 million loan fee for one season.

The package also includes a non-mandatory €80m buy option and a sell-on clause, giving the German champions flexibility should Jackson flourish in the Bundesliga.

Chelsea had delayed a final decision on Jackson amid hopes of sparking a bidding war. Newcastle United were long-term admirers and considered a move should their striker situation change.

Eddie Howe’s side had monitored Jackson as a potential alternative if they lost Alexander Isak, who became the subject of aggressive interest from Liverpool.

However, Newcastle’s recent signing of Nick Woltemade effectively ended their pursuit, closing off that option and clearing the way for Bayern to step in with a decisive proposal.

Liverpool’s continued focus on Isak also left Chelsea without the leverage they had anticipated in the market.

Jackson’s departure comes after he slipped down Enzo Maresca’s pecking order following the arrivals of João Pedro and Liam Delap, both of whom are seen as central to Chelsea’s long-term attacking plans.

His exit, coupled with Christopher Nkunku’s imminent €35m move to AC Milan, has paved the way for new arrivals at Stamford Bridge.

Alejandro Garnacho has already been signed from Manchester United, while Facundo Buonanotte is set to join on loan from Brighton as Maresca reshapes his attack.

Chelsea had also targeted RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons throughout the summer, but Tottenham hijacked that pursuit with a €60m agreement confirmed on Thursday.

Attention could now shift more firmly to Barcelona midfielder Fermin López, with Maresca reportedly holding direct talks with the player this week.

Meanwhile, exits remain a key theme. Alongside Nkunku and Jackson, the club are also working on permanent or temporary departures for Raheem Sterling, Axel Disasi, and Tyrique George as a busy final few days of the transfer window unfold.
